After finishing my college athletic career as a Division 1 springboard diver, I initially began training with Kim as a way to stay in shape. Kim provided a program specifically tailored to my background that focused on my goals of maintaining my fitness level in addition to a long and lean physique. Since then, I have taken up the sport of surfing and Kim has helped design workouts focused on improving my surfing skills. Her sport-specific program blends plyometric and endurance exercises with unique movements on the bosu ball and Pilates reformer that are designed to improve balance and flexibility in addition to building strength for injury prevention–I already feel stronger and more confident paddling into bigger waves. Signing up to train with Kim is the best thing I’ve done since moving to the OBX. She’s EXTREMELY knowledgeable about fitness and exercise. She’s got a Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science unlike a lot of those so-called personal trainers that you’ll find trolling around the gym looking for clients. She provides you not only with a good workout but also with a lot of information about the science behind exercise which you can then apply to all of your daily activities. The workouts are varied, challenging and fun.
